Axel Bloom is a complete bed specialist which means we have both standard bed systems and also make custom beds. We have a broad range of models: seven mattress families, four types of slat suspension systems and 20 contemporary all-wood and fabric bed frames. Besides standard American and European sizes, any one of them can be custom made for custom bed frames or to fit antique beds. All the slat suspension systems have optional electrical adjustable head, shoulder and leg controls with programmable functions for optimal back support and convenient positions to read, watch TV or admire the ocean view.

STORAGE ACCESS ABILITY
If you lift the platform for storage access, we can modify the external frame by cutting the back of the frame by the length of the distance from your headboard to the hinge.

The most popular adjustable system that supports the mattress is the Doppelflex MX 2 adjustable system which is a unique flexible 28 slats on each section that further intelligently comforts your body. The 28 slats have 12 firmness sliders that can firm up or soften the lumbar region where there are double slats. The combination is thus an array of wood slats which flex with rubberized holsters that shape to your body
You can see from a video (link on the Doppelflex MX2 website) how the head section first raises before the back so side-sleepers can have their shoulder stay in position and adjust only the head section to find a sweet spot for the head/shoulder position. Alternatively, as the second video shows, for back sleepers or people with acute acid reflux, we can make the head and back raise in one plane “Straight Back option”.

The DW 800 mattress is a medium firm (to the comfy) mattress. It is our most popular mattress and has the most unique air holes that are cut across the mattress core. The air holes are shaped to allow the shoulder and hip to drop so that the spinal cord is aligned from head to foot. The more than 20 airholes have a vertical cut in the center of each airhole so each airhole can “fill in” the curves of the body without pulling on the adjacent foam sections – thus providing excellent custom comforting support that shapes to the individual body – big or small, rounded or bony, especially the head/shoulder and hip regions

The DW 200 is a firm mattress. It provides good uniform support and the first layer is a comfort layer that has air channels. In the shoulder and hop regions, it has three air holes to provide a comfort zone for the shoulders and hips. The remaining core is uniform and firm (not hard). You can sleep on both sides of this symmetrical mattress. Thus flipping it periodically will maintain its shape. The covers can be unzipped, machine washed and dried.

The Doppelmat mattress is medium firm (to the firm) with a top comfy layer with many air channels that has a firm center wavy core that flexes and provides a rebound in a curved position. Athletes like the rebound properties and thick 8 inch plus depth. It has many air holes for cool air circulation. It is 1 inch thicker than the DW 200 at 8.5 inches. The top and bottom of the mattress is medium firm with a firm core, whereas the DW 200 is uniformly firm. An all-around more robust mattress than the DW 200 or DW 800 mattresses.
